The speaker travels in their Ford Fiesta car; the windshield protects them from rain as they drive through streams of traffic and bounce over speedbumps.
The mountain-strand is the shore by the 'mountain' of the supermarket, i.e. the car park.
Their face-masks protects them against illness; they move sideways because of a wonky trolley.
They don their mask and buy tinned baked beans, vine tomatoes and wine.
