First up - my questions…
1) Are there any shows coming up between now and York?
2) Can we cold call local schools with emails pimping us? I reckon we oughta…
3) Can someone email likely societies on a recruitment spree…ArchSoc, RockSoc, Archers (company of, and Freyas old git one), LARP, LSD, Kendo, fencing, rifle, pistol, history…all seem potential victims good candidates.
Also, I wont be able to attend most Sunday BPs this term, so I'd like to have a regular Saturday Bash. Anyone interested?
3rd week: Feb 1st, Friday - this is Imbolc. It makes sense to have the fire that weekend.
4th week: Crafts day - midterm, so people don't miss it cos they've gone home, but gives us time to organise it…I recommend Sunday and have a day of BP and crafts followed by
Sunday 10th Feb, DROPKICK MURPHYS and MAD CADDIES! Hell Yeah!
5th week: Tue 12th Feb, Intrusion. Coz it's on. And we like strawberry cider. Goths welcome, but not essential ;)
Markets: Fri 15-Sun 17. Can I strongly recommend we avoid Friday, seen as its a work day and people may well be at work…This month they're both on the same day, which is good.
Mystery Trip: If anyone's feeling inventive, or if we're all very nice to Lucinda, maybe we could make the most of our minibus and Mystery Trip too.
Note: Local schools (or at least one in Reading) may give us a cheap/free minibus. They did for Regia for Usk. Talk to Nicki.
Sun 17: OCV Ash Coppicing - if people are interested, a bus leaves L&F at 9.30 for a nature reserve to coppice…when I did a coppicing course we were using billhooks and I felt well medieval, so if anyone wants to get us some sticks for our stickbag, or a staff, or spear shafts for free, this is a likely opportunity - and it's authentic!
6th Week: Feast. Weekend of teh 22-24. Not friday would suit me best, coz I wanna go bat watching on friday. But I'm not a goth.
7th Week: DAS Weekend 29-2 Feb-March
8th Week: People go home…
Which leaves video night and drunken naked twister. Either or both of which might take place at a KM or on their own days?
