If this thread keeps going until the actual event, this will be a very long one.
Anyway, I thought I hereby bring it to the new committee's attention - it may be a good idea to plan early, so we can all agree on dates etc AND still book it well in advance to make sure no other group is at Houksby while we're there. If I remember correctly we decided that around Easter is in fact the best time of year as it's not as cold as in winter and people are still around unlike during the summer. However, if people have other ideas, please discuss.
Another good even though minor reason for planning York early is to give the freshers somewhere to work towards, which means they'll get more kit done in less time. Last year people did pretty well, but we can do better still. This is a challenge to the new committee, although you'll never beat us because it's our year's president who can start fires in Zimbabwe.
Anyway, I just thought I hereby start discussions about the next York trip, because York is great and everyone should go.
