It seems a lot of us are finalists this year. Which brings two questions to mind for organizing future events. When are your finals (so we can plan them for afterwards) and how long are you sticking around for afterwards (so we don't do them too far afterwards and you're gone)? The follow up, if you're leaving, is are there any things you'd like to do as a priority?

Using Claire and I as an example:

We finish finals probably end of 5th week, but we wont know til closer the time.
We're around all of next year, although we're possibly homeless for August 08.
I'd like to buy and make loads of kit, and after finals I'll have time, but there are no real priorities. Other than my tartan trousers mk2, of course ;). Claire would like to make a set of female viking kit. And hopefully a pair of tartan trousers :P

Ok, I had an idea - everyone who has read a good book that is either historical, our period or interesting and readable, can post it with the author and title on here, and say if you have a copy or not. Ppl can then swop them as they wish.

I possess and have read, and can definitely recommend:

'The Pendragon', by Catherine Christian - another take on King Arthur, and very good.
'The Princess Bride', by William Goldman (though I feel we are all very well aquainted with this one…)
'The Key to the Lost Kingdom', by Jay Ashton
'Arthur - the Seeing Stone', by Kevin Crossley-Holland - one of a trilogy, again about King Arthur, and quite readable, but maybe aimed more at teenagers…
'the Hollow Hills', 'The Crystal Cave', and 'The Last Enchantment', by Mary Stewart - Another King Arthur trilogy, but older and more well known.
'Alanna the Lioness', by Tamora Pierce - definitely aimed at early teenagers, but I still love them!
'Wolf of the Plains', by Conn Iggulden - excellent story about the start of Ghengis Khan's life. I think there will be at least 2 more before the series is finished, but I have not found them yet.
'History of Britain' by Simon Schama - very good description of british history between the year dot and the end of the Tudors.
'Kingdom of the North', 'The White Horse' etc by Bernard Cornwell - READ THESE BOOKS!! they are amzing :D

So there we are, that is my amazing literature selection for you! If anyone fancie borrowing them this term, let me know by tonight at the latest, and if i forget them, thatn I will bring them along next term!

emxx
