Ferny & Emily: Friday 23rd May (5th week), 5.30. Pub invasion directly afterwards.
Claire & Heid: Tuesday 27th May (6th week), 12.30

Remember:
No throwing anything that isn't biodegradable.
No alcohol on the street. But bars are cool.
Probably no weapons? Because we're doing the pub invasion straight afterwards.
Wear kit. The finalists have to dress up, so do you. Also, it's not a pub invasion if you don't wear kit, just a pub crawl. Which is fun, but not as fun.

It seems a lot of us are finalists this year. Which brings two questions to mind for organizing future events. When are your finals (so we can plan them for afterwards) and how long are you sticking around for afterwards (so we don't do them too far afterwards and you're gone)? The follow up, if you're leaving, is are there any things you'd like to do as a priority?

Using Claire and I as an example:

We finish finals probably end of 5th week, but we wont know til closer the time.
We're around all of next year, although we're possibly homeless for August 08.
I'd like to buy and make loads of kit, and after finals I'll have time, but there are no real priorities. Other than my tartan trousers mk2, of course ;). Claire would like to make a set of female viking kit. And hopefully a pair of tartan trousers :P

Just read the first Uhtred book, and it was ace! Bit too much fur and black and faceplates on helmets to be quite authentic, but this is still excellent!

I highly recommend the Flashman books by George MacDonald Fraser. They're brilliant. Flashman is the ultimate anti-hero cad, going around the world running away from danger and wenching. Through his eyes, you see a brilliantly insightful view of the Victorian rise and fall of the British Empire and the American West & Civil War. Incredibly well researched history, also very readable.
Read the first one ("Flashman") first. It takes a while to get going, but then becomes pure classic Flashman.

If I had any talents for writing fiction, I'd write stories that tell our period in a similar way.
